A shark died after a group of tourists and lifeguards in
the Dominican Republic dragged it out of the water to shore. The shark
was first seen in the surf. Seven men then cautiously approached it and
got it out to shore, near the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta
Cana.
A life preserver was placed in it's mouth to keep it from
biting anyone. Tourists and Lifeguards then posed for a photo with it
and the shark reportedly died later on. Some staff of the nearby Hotel
were allegedly involved in the incident and a spokesperson for the
resort management, Stacy Sorino, confirmed that the management was now
aware of what happened and that corrective measures are being taken
against the employees involved.
'That is absolutely against our standards of protecting
animals as we protect our guests. Hard Rock does not condone this
behavior, we are taking this situation seriously.
