Factional Boko Haram Leader, al-Barnawi, accuses Abubakar Shekau Of killing Muslims, says its against the Quran

The factional leader of Boko Haram sect, Abu Musab al-Barnawi, who was recently named Boko Haram leader by ISIS, has released an audio statement attacking his rival Abubakar Shekau.
In the audio recording, al-Barnawi said Shekau had violated Islamic tenets by killing fellow Muslims, including members of the terrorist Islamist group, living a life of luxury with his wives, neglecting starving women and children, and failing to provide food and weapons for insurgent fighters.

US issues a travel warning to their citizens in Nigeria, list 20 states to be avoided

The U.S. Department of State has released a statement warning their Citizens in/coming to Nigeria, to consider their own personal security by avoiding some states due to the security situation in northeast Nigeria. The statement warns U.S. citizens of the risks of travelling to Nigeria and recommends that U.S. citizens should especially avoid travelling to Adamawa, Borno & Yobe. Except for essential matters.

Militant groups, Niger Delta Avengers have announced a new twitter handle. In a statement released on their website today, the group said they are not afraid of the Nigerian Airforce's recent attacks on illegal bunkering camps in some parts of the Niger Delta region. Woman taking photos of her friend on a cliff falls and dies

A 23-year-old woman, Sydney Craft of Roseburg in Oregon was standing on some rocks taking photos of her friend jumping into a river when she suddenly slipped and fell 90 feet off a cliff to her death, police revealed on Monday.

Operation Awatse: Air Force advices the residents around Arepo not to panic

The Nigerian Military on the 28th of July, commenced the aerial bombardment of Fatola, the hideout of militants and pipeline vandals in the Arepo area of Ogun State and successfuly displaced suspected militants and vandals.

In a statement released today, NAF has urged members of the public living around the area of ongoing air operations at AREPO and its environs, not to panic and to go about their legitimate businesses. The statement read,

Quezon City Jail was built 60 years ago to house 800 prisoners. It now accommodates 3,800 men, who compete daily for space. Inmates take turns to sleep on the floor of an open-air basketball court, on the steps of staircases, underneath beds, and in hammocks made out of old blankets. Their bodies are packed together like sardines, unable to stretch out.

Troops foil Boko Haram attack, kill five

Five terrorists were killed as Nigerian troops thwarted a Boko Haram attack near the northeastern city of Maiduguri, the epicentre of the seven-year insurgency, the army said on Tuesday.

“Troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE accompanied by Civilian JTF successfully thwarted an attempt by Boko Haram terrorists on Yauri community at the outskirts of Maiduguri city, Borno State,” said a statement by army spokesman Sani Usman.
