Two robbers were almost lynched yesterday, June 28 after a failed
attempt to rob a man of his belongings around Enehren, Sefia Close, in
Warri, Delta state.
According to an eye witness, the man identified as a lawyer left entered
a Keke, unaware of the fact that he was being trailed by the suspect
who were probably acting on a tip-off.
When the robbers also entered same Keke, the lawyer became suspicious
and raised alarm. They were immediately apprehended and were about to be
burnt alive but fortunately rescued by a vigilante team.
On interrogation, they claimed it was hunger that led them into crime.
One of them also claimed that his wife had just delivered and he had no
means to take care of the newborn. However, no weapon was found on them.
