Police arrest widow alleged to use secondary school students for sex in Lagos

The Lagos state Police command yesterday paraded Chinonso Okolokwo, who is alleged to engage young secondary school female students in prostitution in the state. According to the Lagos state police commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, Chinonso, who hails from Ebonyi state, goes to different secondary schools in the Surulere area in Lagos state within school hours to lure female students between 12 to 15 years of age to a hotel.
Okolokwo, according to the CP, would give the students clothes to change into, take them to hotels where they meet men, who sleep with them. She would then pay them between N1,000 and N2,000, depending on the number of men they attended to.

"Detectives arrested her on Wednesday. Her mode of operation is to target some secondary schools in the area. She, together with her cohorts, would go to the schools and get the girls to a hotel. The hotel is located in Ikate, Surulere. She would change their clothes and use them as sex slaves. She would keep the girls in the hotel until the school closing time and make them change back into their uniforms. Investigation is still ongoing, and we will extend it to the hotel and the schools which are involved. We want to see whether there is connivance between the suspect and the school authorities.”he said

When interrogated, the suspect said she is a widow and mother of four. According to her, she took to prostitution after the death of her husband
“I do not know anything about the schoolgirls. I am also a ‘hustler’ at Sunderland Hotel. I took to prostitution after the death of my husband 11 years ago. I have four children, but two died before my husband. I lodged at the hotel for a week or two before going home to take care of my children with the proceeds. Several girls from Abuja and other parts of the country come there to hustle as well. Police raided the hotel and arrested me. I am not connected with what they alleged.”she said
